Initially this started out as a standard macMontage show, but ended up covering a lot of the recent Alfred update.
The first part is a look at the new features introduced in Alfred 1.2, a fairly major update with some great integration with 1Password, and now support for large type.
I also include a peek behind the curtain to show you how I've configured my new Thunderbolt drive into multiple partitions, as well as the reasons why I did it, and how I manage them.
Finishing off with looking at running some AppleScripts in various ways to unmount partitions.
The imminent closure of MobileMe is rapidly drawing nearer. Apple are due to turn off all MobileMe related services on June 30th 2012.
This week, I take you through what is needed to migrate your iWeb websites, currently hosted on MobileMe, to an external web hosting service.
It's easier than you think, especially as I show you the process step by step.
There are even some discount codes to make it less painfull.
Two parts to this week's tutorial - an update to Microsoft's SkyDrive service and the final instalment of ScreenFlow.
Microsoft SkyDrive - You need to act quickly to claim your 25GB of free storage if you have an existing account plus I show you the new Mac client.
ScreenFlow (Final Part) - Part 4 of one of the most requested subjects this week - ScreenFlow by Telestream.
ScreenFlow is the premier video screencasting tool, the main application I use to record, edit and encode the weekly ScreenCastOnline shows.
This is the fourth and final episode in a series of Screenflow tutorials that will enable you to become a screencast expert.
Two parts to this week's tutorial - a Mini Mac Montage & ScreenFlow Part 3.
The first part of the tutorial covers:
OSX Dock Configuration - Some hints and tips on configuring "Hiding" on the OSX Dock, including changing or removing the animation.
1Password Keyboard Shortcuts - How to boost your productivity with 1Password including a great tip for accessing your 1Password shortcuts using keyboard shortcut in Safari.
The second part of the tutorial covers: ScreenFlow - Part 3 - This is the third in a series of Screenflow tutorials that will enable you to become a screencast expert.
Two parts to this week's tutorial - FlashBack & ScreenFlow Part 2
FlashBack Malware - Due to the recent controversy surrounding the discovery of this "drive-by-download" malware on Macs, I take a brief look at the problem and how you can protect yourself now, and in the future.
ScreenFlow Part 2 - Part 2 of one of the most requested subjects this week - ScreenFlow by Telestream.
ScreenFlow is the premier video screencasting tool, the main application I use to record, edit and encode the weekly ScreenCastOnline shows.
Recently I moved from a workflow including various video editing and recording applications to using ScreenFlow on its own. It's matured into a highly capable and feature rich package, enabling anyone to create their own screencasts to share with friends, family and colleagues. Use it for personal or business use, you'll be amazed at just how useful it can become.

Time for a Mac Montage tutorial this week!
Lot's of small topics that don't warrant a show on their own.
In this week's tutorial I follow up from last week and show you a free utility for capturing websites, look at some iTunes tips and show you how to use Handbrake and iVI to create 1080p movies for use with the new Apple TV.
Cheaters is a great way to create you own "cheat sheets" for virtually any application.
Developed as a free utility by Brett Terpstra, Cheaters allows you to take raw HTML from web pages, or images and convert them into a customisable cheat sheet accessible within an Automator application.
Just run your App and all your cheat sheets are available at your fingertips!
The countdown to the decommissioning of MobileMe is on. Apple have given all existing MobileMe customers until 30th April 2012 to migrate away from MobileMe to alternative services. Although the free iCloud service gives some alternatives to MobileMe, not all features are replicated.
This tutorial takes you through some of the options for replacing Apple's file sharing feature - iDisk, something not covered by iCloud.
I look at DropBox, SugarSync, Box as well as looking at setting up Microsofts SkyDrive and Live mesh services on the Mac - get 25GB of free cloud based storage.
Readability is a new way of reading and collating your online material.
Whilst there is a lot of great content on the web, more often than not, the great content is surrounded by adverts, banners and all sorts of distractions that detract from the reading experience. Safari has "Reader" built in to remove the distractions, but Readability takes distraction free reading to the next level, as well as allowing you to collect and store your online reading material is a single reading list. If you have an iPhone or iPad, you can even take it offline with you.
This week's Mac show focusses on using Readability via Safari, as well as exploring it's integration with other 3rd party Mac apps. If you'd like to know more about using Readability on iOS, check this week's iOS tutorial.
This week's show features an iPad application recently launched to critical acclaim, and seen by many to be a ""must have"" application for the iPad. Some have even deemed the release of the application to be an equivalent of the PC's ""VisCalc"" moment!
The application is OmniFocus for iPad by The Omni Group. OmniFocus is a powerful task management application for the Mac, iPhone and now iPad. It can be utilised to support the ""Getting Things Done"" or GTD methodology, or you can use it to create your own system of task management.
Keynote? - One of my absolute favourite applications!
Well, Apple have just released the latest update as part of the iWork '09 suite and now we have Keynote '09.
Even though the application has only been out for a week, I thought I'd abandon my plans for this weeks and do a new tutorial on this amazing piece of software.
Aperture 3 is the latest version of Apples flagship photo management application.
Previous versions have been aimed squarely at the professional photographer, but with this new release, Aperture has been repositioned as a tool for both prosumers and professionals.
Apple’s consumer video editing package has been given a makeover in iLife ‘11, with the release of iMovie ‘11. Heavily criticised following the complete re-write of iMovie since iMovie HD, Apple has been diligently returning features to the application on each release, and with the launch of iMovie ‘11, has exceeded the capabilities of the original iMovie HD in most areas. This week’s show is the first in a two part show bringing you up to speed with some of the new features of iMovie ‘11
It seems like there are hundreds of text editing applications available for the iPad, quite a few with Markdown and DropBox support built in.
Understandable really, as the iPad is the perfect tool for creating documents on the go, with Dropbox allowing you to sync with your Mac, and Markdown giving you the ultimate in portability and flexibility. But which iPad application do you choose? Well, I must have tried them all, but I've finally found one that I most comfortable with, one that is simple to use, but very powerful.
That application is Writing Kit for iPad
A slight departure for this week as I'm covering an application that's been out for a considerable time, in fact, one that might even be upgraded in the very near future! The application is the word processor and page layout application from Apple - Pages'09.
The show this week takes a look at the new AirPlay feature, and discusses why I’m making the change in more detail. I also show you the tools and techniques for moving my assorted media collection into iTunes format, suitable to be played on any modern Apple device.
