Many, many applications are "Growl Aware" allowing you to use a consistant, controllable system wide notification system using popups, email or speech to notify you of various application events.
This show introduces a new weekly section for every show - The Extra! section. Every free show will still be a complete show in it's own right, but tagged on the end of each show will be a special section every week for ScreenCastsOnline Extra! members. This extra section will feature additional hints and tips or cover some elements of the main show in more detail. This weeks Extra! section covers the installation and configuration of two additional Growl applications to receive notifications from iTunes and Safari Growlitunes and Growl Safari.
The Extra! section will be automatically included in the high resolution versions of the shows received by ScreenCastsOnline Extra! members but only the introduction to the Extra! section will be included in the free version. This additional content is included with no increase in the price of the Extra! membership which still stands at $25 for a full six months. The only difference is that instead of getting Extra! content each month, you now get something Extra! each week along with the high resolution versions of the shows!
