What is ScreenCastsOnline?
ScreenCastsOnline is acknowledged as a premier source of Mac and iOS video tutorials, with a huge library of over 300+ video tutorials available for immediate download. A brand new video tutorial is published every week, covering the latest and greatest Mac and iOS applications, allowing you to keep up to date with the latest developments, and make the most out of your Mac, iPad or iPhone.

The video tutorials are in the form of "screencasts" which are basically videos of screen captures demonstrating a particular application or service, with a spoken commentary explaining what is happening on screen. It's a really easy way to learn all about new applications and how to get the most out of your Mac or iOS device.

ScreenCastsOnline is unique in that it is one of the very few non-US centric mac based podcasts! It's hosted by myself (Don McAllister) out of the UK and I also do all the show and website production. The show has been running since August 2005 and to date has produced over 300+ screencasts.
I'm new to the Mac - Any shows suitable for me?
Absolutely!

There's now a special page just for new Mac users which takes you through all the shows you need to catch up on, presented in a logical order. This enables you to see which shows out of the 300+ screencasts will be most beneficial to get you up to speed really quickly.

Please be aware that some of the older shows are only viewable by members but there are a number of free shows still viewable.
Do I need an iPod/iPad or Mac computer to watch?
No!

ScreenCastsOnline shows are recorded in Apples popular Quicktime format and will play both on Windows and Mac computers. You can use either iTunes or any other video player that supports Quicktime to play the tutorials. All tutorials are available in multiple formats from HD down to iPod, with the most recent ones being in iPad format too.

Members also have access from a special webpage, so they can download or play them in their browser

How do I know when a new tutorial is available?
ScreenCastsOnline is published on a weekly basis! Yes, that's a brand new tutorial every week!

Each tutorial is usually published on a Friday but the great thing is that because it's available in iTunes, it can be sent to you automatically as soon as it is available, you don't have to do a thing!

As well as using iTunes, you can also sign up for a free weekly email newsletter, that allows you to receive information about the show each week, including what topics are covered. If you'd like to sign up for the newsletter now (it's completely free), just follow this link.
