In Part 1 of this double-header, you learned the basics of getting started with Superwhisper. In this video, Lee takes it further by showing you the two remaining modes, Super and Meeting. You also learn how to create your own modes that can be configured to transcribe your dictated text in any number of ways.

By combining customised AI prompts with high-powered voice models, Superwhisper can output your words any way you like and allow you to build some powerful workflows.

Lee has been looking at taking the plunge with a dictation application for a while now. However, with an above average typing speed, coupled with a distrust in the quality of the dictation apps available, he's never pulled the trigger. That is, until now.

While trying to find efficiencies in his workflows and make more time available during the day, he gave Superwhisper a try and the results are quite something. At its core, it can transcribe dictated text with unnerving accuracy due the available models. And when combined with AI processing, all of a sudden you're able to work a lot smarter, with Superwhisper doing a lot of the heavy lifting.

In this first of a two-part series, Lee looks into the origins of dictation and how it can help us, as well as getting started with the core functionality of Superwhisper. He closes off Part 1 by looking at some of the built-in modes you can enable, allowing you to dictate text knowing it will be transcribed in a format suitable for email, notes, messaging, and more.

It's time to look at the latest iteration of macOS and get to grips with some of the new features and improvements. Whilst we covered lots of generic app features last week in the iOS/iPadOS 26 video, macOS has had it's own, personal touches. There is a significant improvement to Spotlight, with added functionality for launching actions, shortcuts as well as accessing your clipboard history. The menu bar is now fully customisable, and you can also create automations from Shortcuts that have the potential to impact your productivity for the better. There's a lot of new stuff to cover, and Lee walks you through the most significant changes in this bumper show.

After a lengthy beta testing period, DEVONthink 4 is out and in this video, Lee kicks the tyres of the best new features that come with it. It will come as no surprise to users of DEVONthink that AI is now a core addition to the feature-set, however unlike other applications, it's not forced upon you at every turn. In fact, you can install the latest version and not even realise that AI is available -  which is a good thing. It can be used in a small capacity, or as the main framework behind all of your work -  the choice is yours.

Lee will walk you through how to configure DEVONthink to use a 3rd party AI engine for basic queries, summarisation, transcriptions, advanced queries with multiple documents, even writing scripts with the built-in Script Assistant! Not all features are AI-centric. DEVONthink 4 now introduces Audit-Proof Databases, which prevent modifications to ANY files contained within, we have automatic versioning for documents that are edited within DEVONthink as well as the ability to add a Table Of Contents to any PDF file. It's a solid update.

More of a conceptual video this time round as Lee walks you through his menu bar setup, starting with a look at how it's structured, followed by a brief look at the software used to manage it. Then, the bulk of the video centres on some brief overviews as to the apps themselves, and how they are used. If you are looking for inspiration as to how to set up your own menu bar, or just look for some new apps, this could be the video for you.

When Lee appeared as a special guest on the Mac Power Users podcast, he talked about his Project Management workflows and how he uses his Mac to keep all the plates spinning.  In this video, Lee builds on that to help visualise the process.  You see how he is able to set up processes and systems for management using tools like OmniFocus, Obisidian, DEVONthink and Anybox, along with a few other utilities.  You also get a high-level overview of how he leverages MindNode, OmniOutliner and OmniPlan to plan a project effectively from start to finish.It's very much a high-level peek into some processes that you may find useful in your own work and projects.

In this screencast Lee looks at two utilities from the team behind DEVONthink: WordService and CalcService. These free applications provide some extra shortcuts in Keyboard section of System Preferences to assist you in carrying out transformations on your text, such as changing the case, formatting spaces, performing calculations, and much more.

There are times when you just don't want to use a cloud service to sync your important documents such as financial or business records. This is when local sync can help by syncing all your files on your server, while still having them accessible on your iOS devices on the go.

In this screencast, Todd walks you through setting up local sync on both Mac and iPad, using Bonjour and WebDAV.
