With respect to the Camera application, most of the changes in iOS 12 are under the hood, while iPhone XS and XS Max bring in some new features.

In this tip video, I revisit the Camera app using the iPhone XS Max by doing a refresher on some old features, as well as taking a look at the new ones.

Despite the best intentions, it can be really hard to hold your iPhone (or iPad) still when taking photos. Invariably, there is some stretching involved in reaching for the on-screen shutter button or volume controls.

In this week's tip I show you how to use the built-in timer to give you a few seconds to frame the shot and hold the iPhone as still as possible.

I also show you a great way to control the camera remotely using your Apple Watch. There's something really cool about seeing your camera display and controlling zoom and exposure, all from your wrist!

iOS 8 - #6 - Camera and Photos App

Date : 17th October 2014

Duration: 16:02

Continuing on from last week as promised - A look at the new Camera app as well as the new editing controls in the new Photos App.

The Camera App has been updated with some new features (depending on your iOS device) but the main changes are in the Photos App. iPhoto for iOS is no more and photo editing has been enhanced in the Photos App. You can switch between "easy" editing or open up controls for fine grained adjustments for light, colour or B/W.

The new Photo Extensions in iOS 8 also allow you to utilise the photo editing capabilities of other installed photo editors, right from within the Photos App. I demonstrate by using Camera+ on the iPhone.
