Something very different this week - see how I create an audio podcast from scratch including all steps required to get it submitted into iTunes.
Even if you don't have a requirement to publish your own podcast, I hope you'll find this marathon episode interesting as it touches on many tools and technologies, and gives you a peek under the covers as to how some of your favourite podcasts are managed.
The full tutorial covers:

Thank you for this screencast. Very interesting, even for me to decide not to change from a wordpress.com hosting of my podcast to a self-hosted podcast...
I´m also very interested in your audio-recording and editing workflow...

Hi Jan, Perhaps this can be something I could cover in a future screencast.
A very thorough screencast Don.
Like Jan above, made me think about the differences between using wordpress.com and self-hosting. I want to create a very small, hardly likely to change, low traffic website and am considering wordpress.com (because it's free more than anything else!). Anyone want to suggest pros and cons?
Hi Colin, posting on Wordpress.com was not something I considered as I wanted to keep control of all aspects of the process. However, from what you are describing, it sounds like it could be a good solution for you.
