Tutorial Description

Part 2 of our updated coverage of the new Evernote 5 for Mac

Evernote have pulled all the stops out and completely redesigned both the Mac and iOS client applications. The redesigns aren't just cosmetic either, they've added a lot of new functionality to Evernote, and in doing so have changed the way you may interact with the application.

This week is the second in a multipart series looking at the new features of Evernote 5 for Mac, and I take a look at some of the more advanced ways of getting information into your notes.

Evernote have radically redesigned the Evernote Web Clipper and I take a look at the new version for Safari. There are now multiple ways to clip from Safari and Evernote now includes Smart Filing.

I also take a look at the redesigned Notebook and Tag views, finishing off by exploring the updated Search features.

This full tutorial includes sections on:

  • Adding Notes via Email
  • Evernote Web Clipper
  • Using Notebooks
  • Using Tags
  • Searching in Evernote

I agreee with you Don that the new look is quite attractive. I wonder about whether you have any thoughts about this service's privacy policy you'd care to share? I am using it a bit, but keeping the information I'm storing quite bland. If I really had a "Project X" I was working on, I'd be reluctant to store any information, even ideas, on this, or other cloud services for such matters.

Privacy and security are always a consideration when using any cloud based service. It's a personal choice and a compromise between convenience and risk.
