Tutorial Description

This week I cover two brand new utilities and revisit a third.

In detail. the show covers:

Quix Bookmarklet: The bookmarklet to rule them all! If, like me, you're building up a lot of bookmarklets in your bookmarks bar, this amazing utility may be the answer to all your problems. Basically, Quiz is a single bookmarklet containing over 100+ built in commands, allowing to access all sorts of functionality from your browser.

These commands support a wide range of functions including Basic commands, Social commands, WordPress, SEO, Webmaster, Quix, Analytics, URL Shortening even App and Mac Integration commands, all built into the single Quix bookmarklet. It's like LaunchBar for your browser.

Even better still, Quix is extensible and allows you to create your own Quix commands, removing the need for all those individual bookmarklets. The icing on the cake though is that Quix works on your iPhone or iPad. If you're a MobileMe user, Quix will synchronise with your mobile device and give you all the Quix functionality whilst you're out and about!

In the show I show you how to install Quix and invoke it with a keyboard shortcut in Safari, demonstrate some of the commands and show you how to create a custom quiz command based on the ""add to Boxee"" bookmarklet from last weeks show. In addition, I take a look at Quix on the iPhone and demonstrate its use.

Notational Velocity: We've already looked at NV in a previous show but one question I keep getting is how to synchronise NV across Macs. The latest version of NV has just been released with support for syncing your notes via Simplenote - a free web based service.

Simplenote: A free web based service for creating and storing simple notes! With the built in integration with Notational Velocity, you now have a robust and powerful workflow. Simplenote also has a free iPhone app so it's now possible to sync you notes across Macs, to the web and to your iPhone or iPad - Amazing! This part of the show demonstrates setting up a Simplenote account and synchronising with NV.

I also show you how it works on the iPhone.?
