Tutorial Description

Office 365 is the new subscription service from Microsoft that allows Mac users to access the latest versions of their Office suite of applications - Word, Excel, Powerpoint, OneNote and Outlook.

Following on from this week's Mac show, I take a look at Word on the iPad and iPhone.

Whereas Word 2016 is only available as part of the Office 365 subscription, the iOS versions of all the apps are free to download and are pretty much fully featured. However, for seamless integration with the Mac versions of the apps, you will need an Office 365 subscription.

The iOS versions of the apps do allow you to save your documents locally and do allow you to save documents to iCloud Drive. Dropbox integration is only available if you have an Office 365 subscription.

In this short series of shows, I'll be taking a look at the three core applications, starting this week with an overview of Microsoft Word on iOS.

Be sure to check out show SCOM0518 where I cover the installation of Office 365 and an overview of Microsoft Word 2016 on the Mac.

The full episode covers:

  • Installation & Setup
  • Template Gallery
  • UI Elements
  • Creating A New Document
  • Word on the iPhone
