With 90 pre-built apps from popular websites for social media, shopping, news sites, and more, you may find the one you want right away. But Unite lets you create them from scratch, and you can also make what Allison calls "Super Apps" with multiple web services as tabs in the same Mac app. Join Allison as she shows you the ins and outs of Unite, with lots of useful examples and tips.

Thanks for covering Unite. I learned several things that I didn't know (including the existence and differences in Coherence) and the specific tailoring that's available to each "app". My complaints below are about the app. The class and presenter here were both great.
I've tried Unite several times over the past few years and it's never met my expectations. I tried a couple of web sites again after watching your class. They just didn't work well for me.
One example, was Perplexity.ai which is my AI chatbot of choice. They already had a native Mac app but it is virtually unusable because it doesn't export individual question/answer conversations. Their web page supports that feature so I wrapped that web page in a Unite app so that I could get Export to PDF back. That function, however, doesn't work when wrapped in a Unite app though.
Perplexity had me try many solutions and eventually suggested that it doesn't work because of how Unite is sandboxed which may or may not be true. I tried to set the app to have Full Disk Access and File & Folders but that didn't fix it ether.
On another couple of websites I tried, the upper right corner icons for Settings didn't work properly. The whole thing seems a bit flaky to me so, as much as I was hoping to use Unite, it's not for me at this time.
Again, thanks for covering Unite. I hope to try again in the future.
Jason - have you provided this feedback to Binyamin? He’s SUPER responsive to questions so might have an idea. It’s interesting that Perplexity doesn’t take ownership of the problem since their very own dedicate Mac app. I just tested a Unite-created app for Perplexity (using the built-in one he provides), and it DOES have a export to PDF under the three-dot button (which doesn’t exist in the offiical Mac app). However, even though it says it exports, using the magnifier doesn’t do anything to figure out where it went when it downloaded. I also can’t find the downloaded file on disk.
Binyamin has a new version of Unite in the works (I’m testing the Alpha version), and that version DOES create a PDF of the current prompt and answers. It opens it in the app so you still have to Print to PDF.
In any case, I would still write to Binyamin and see if he has an answer for why the export never shows up on disk.
I was trying to use the download icon at the bottom of Perplexity's answer. I selected the PDF option. I couldn't find the file on disk either. I may indeed followup with the developer based on your recommendation but it'll likely be a few days before I can get to it. I'm not sold on the value of the product myself but I need to mess with it further. I wish there was support for custom css for the background color, at least, so it'd stand out from the web page version a bit better. Just Watch, for example, is frustrating for me due to the very dark background color and I'd prefer to have a "light" mode of that website. Again, thanks for responding. I'll let you know what happens after contacting Binyamin.

Jason - that’s not an “issue” per se. Unite is designed to not support any plugins/extensions. It has its own ad-blocking feature, but if that doesn’t do what you want, then you’re more likely to like his app Coherence. Coherence is designed to allow extensions from the Chrome store.
