When it comes to photo editing and organization there are a number of applications in the market including Adobe's Lightroom and Apple's Photos application.
Luminar 3 is another entry into this market, that brings along some unique features. It includes a photo management system that stays in sync with your photos in the Finder and includes some advanced and modern editing tools that you just won't find in other photo editing apps.
In this screencast, Todd walks you through managing your photos in Luminar 3 and then covers some of the many editing tools available in the app. He also shows you how this flexible program can be used as a plug-in within Photos, and how to back up your Luminar catalog.

What formats does Luminar open - PSDs for example?
RAW - what cameras does it include?
Does it work with text?
Hi David!
Luminar 3 works with RAW, psd, jpeg, pdf, gif, tiff, png, jpeg2000. Here is a link to the supported file formats: https://skylum.com/luminar/user-guides/chapter-9-supported-file-types
It does not do text.
Hope that helps:).
Yes, thanks, Todd
Can we get an update on Luminar 4 ? Bought 3 a while ago but waiting to start to use it until the new MacPro gets here and meanwhile Lumiar 4 has been released. Any huge differences you know of ?
Hi Stefaan! Thanks for the comment! Yes there are some differences in the tools that add a lot of great features like sky replacement which works very nicely. We'll have to look at doing an update soon! Thanks for the request!
