Tutorial Description

When Lee appeared as a special guest on the Mac Power Users podcast, he talked about his Project Management workflows and how he uses his Mac to keep all the plates spinning.  In this video, Lee builds on that to help visualise the process.  You see how he is able to set up processes and systems for management using tools like OmniFocus, Obisidian, DEVONthink and Anybox, along with a few other utilities.  You also get a high-level overview of how he leverages MindNode, OmniOutliner and OmniPlan to plan a project effectively from start to finish. It's very much a high-level peek into some processes that you may find useful in your own work and projects.

Lee, I find your workflow videos extremely valuable. I already use several applications you feature in your workstream, including Obsidian, OmniFocus, OmniOutliner, iThoughts, and Yoink. However, I don't use OmniPlan due to its cost. I appreciate you detailing how you utilize these applications in a project setting.

I'm also curious about the tools you use to create your SCO videos. Don shared his process a while back, and an update on your method would be interesting and useful.

Thank you for sharing this information.

Hi Alan,

Thanks for the lovely comment. I was in two minds on this content originally but I did receive a number of requests for it so figured it wouldn't hurt to see how it would land, and I've had some lovely emails on the back of it. I hear you on OmniPlan and appreciate the cost, which is why I mentioned that specifically in the video. It isn't for all, at all but for those who need it, it's very good.

Tools to create SCO videos is on the roadmap for the future.

Feel free to email suggestions, if people hadn't then this video wouldn't have landed.

Cheers

Lee...I've had trouble using Better Touch Tool to set up my HyperKey. For example, it broke when I upgraded to Mac OS Sanoma. I switched to SuperKey and it works perfectly in terms of remapping Tab into Hyperkey while still gives me the ability to Tab by a brief rap of the Tab key. I checked with Brett Terpstra who was the first person to talk about the HyperKey. He is still using Karabiner to remap his Tab key, but he agreed with me that SuperKey gives one more optionality.

Hey there Mike,

Thanks for the comment. I guess I'm fortunate in that I've had little to no issue with using BTT for it. Occasionally, BTT will be disabled or some reason and I may need to open it up and click to re-enable (little quirk I guess) but aside form that it's been rock solid. Superkey is another solid option though as you say and I know Mike S has covered it for us

I used to use Karabiner Elements and it's amazing for sure. I think one of the reasons I moved away was that sometimes when I used to restart my device, it wouldn't close down properly and would hang, thus making me need to Force Quit. First world problem I know - so had a little less friction with BTT.

Will give Superkey a whirl for a short time though and see how stable that is!

Thanks Rudolph. You will be pleased to know then that i've just started the outline - however it's going to take careful planning (no pun intended) so it's not immediate, but definitely in the pipeline.
