This week, Rosemary introduces you to Stream Deck from elgato, a piece of hardware that has become quite popular with many power users using their Mac. You learn how to create custom buttons to trigger a variety of useful actions.

Rose also shows you the iOS app for Stream Deck, as well as some of the profiles she uses in her work.

Not a lot has changed in Calendar and Contacts in Big Sur, other than the expected visual refresh. With that in mind, Don shows you some lesser-known features from both of these core macOS applications, and adds a little Automator trick as a bonus!

The latest version of macOS, Big Sur, brings with it an overhaul of much of the core functionality. Here, Lee takes a deeper look at how the Control Center and Notification Center have been modified to look a lot more like their iOS counterparts. You learn how to configure both areas, and how to add and remove widgets from the Notification Center.

We've covered HoudahSpot from Houdah Software in the past on ScreenCastsOnline. It's my go-to app if I want to do some serious searching on my Mac. But if you want to do a simple search and Spotlight just doesn't cut it, I'd recommend Tembo for macOS.

Taskheat

Rosemary shows you in this week's tip how to retrieve tasks using the custom OmniFocus actions in Shortcuts. You also learn how to install and use Omni Automation plugins.
