In this week's episode you learn about Capto, a versatile and feature-rich utility for capturing screenshots and recording screencasts.
Using Capto, you can capture an entire web page and catalog those screenshots right inside its built-in library. Taking screenshots of application menus, as well as floating panels is also very easy. Allison shows you the many screencasting features also available inside the application, including the ability to record your webcam along with your computer's desktop. After going through the many annotation tools available to enhance your captures, she wraps up with a look at exporting them.

Do you know if there is a "on screen, corner of screen" 3-5 second snapshot of the capture similar to Apple's version. i.e. an easy way to drag and drop into messages, email etc?

Wow! I've been using Capto via Setapp for quite a while. It was a means to capture an area, or maybe a window, and that's was about it. This has opened up all kinds of possibilities that will be quite useful to me.

Thanks, Tony - I felt the same way! I just kept trying more and more options and couldn't believe how capable it is. This is actually one of the reasons I like to teach (best way to learn).
