Performing a computer action sometimes involves a lot of mouse clicks and key presses to get to the end result you're looking for. Keysmith is an application that can record these actions and chain them together to form macros. Those can be invoked with a hotkey and save you lots of time!
In this screencast, Lee shows you the basics of how to create a macro. He then runs through a few of his real-world examples that will surely inspire you to create Keysmith recipes of your own.

Question: really wondering how Lee manages to type ?? in order to create his shortcut.
When i hit ??, the second ? is not taken into account by macOS.

Editing my recent post above since your system didn't take into account the character i typed
I meant "COMMAND" and not "?".
Question therefore is, how do I have macOS to let me use say "cmd-cmd-U" as a shortcut?
Bonjour Gérard,
macOS does not support using two identical modifier keys in sequence (e.g. Command-Command-U, as in your example) for shortcuts — possibly with the exception of Dictation, which can be invoked by tapping two identical keys twice (System Prefs > Keyboard > Dictation).
I will leave it to Lee to add more wisdom to your post. :-)
