A constant bugbear of many Mac users has been trying to find a reliable solution for backing up both iCloud Drive and iCloud Photo Library data. After all, it's important to note that these are NOT backups within themselves, and it's a good idea to have a separate solution for them - especially for those beloved photos. Parachute Backup for macOS is a great utility that does exactly this. In this video, Lee actually uses it for the first time to see if it's worth the praise it's been receiving. The results speak for themselves.
Parachute Backup costs $4.99 in the Mac App Store

So, I have many "application folders" in my iCloud Drive, like Numbers, Pages, Keynote, and many more. Do I have to add EACH one of them separately to really backup ALL of iCloud Drive? Or is there a one-choice solution to get it all? Thx.
Hi Paul - you are correct - so I"ve manually added Obsidian, Numbers, Pages, Drafts and the like, to make sure I have a belt and brace backup - but of course, I'll be keeping an eye out for updates on the app to see if that 'one-click' solution comes in the future. It's a fair amount of manual adding at first, I get that, then if you have a new app that uses iCloud to store app data a process needs to be added to remind you to add the file to Parachute, but for the price I'm happy with this. TBH, as I use Time Machine for iCloud Drive anyhow, my value is really iCloud Photos backup. I see everything else as a nice bonus.
