Bookmarks saved in any web browser can quickly become disorganised if not given regular love and attention. Raindrop.io is a dedicated bookmarks manager on macOS that allows you to keep your bookmarks organised and that also integrates with third-party utilities to allow you to both use and store bookmarks from a variety of sources.
Lee takes you through Raindrop.io in great detail and shows you just how flexible and useful the service is. You also learn how to install and use an Alfred workflow that makes it easy to add to your bookmarks collection as well as search through it.

I am at 09:18 and I am thinking... I wish he had explained in an overview at the beginning exactly what benefit I am going to get over and above just creating folders in the default Safari bookmarks. The statement at the beginning that it "...allows you to make sense of the bookmarks you create when browsing the web" isn't enough to keep me watching. Also, one thing that I may be don't understand - but do I have to go to raindrop.io desktop app to actually see the bookmarks? I guess so, and if so then that's a click away, a step away from the browser, and that roundtrip just seems like more work.
Hey David,
Exactly as JF says. Lots of the benefits don’t just come from accessing bookmarks - it’s about the organisation and ability to sort/filter based on your circumstances or requirements. You are absolutely right in that it could have been covered more in the intro - so thanks for the feedback and have a great weekend.
Thanks
Lee
Hi David,
I will let Lee chime in on the intro's content, but to answer your question at the end: you can view your bookmarks collections using the Raindrop.io icon in the Safari toolbar and search from there — having the desktop app running is not required, although it does offer a more expansive view of your collections. I have found (for me at least) that the various ways to display your bookmarks (button to the right of the search bar in the Safari toolbar icon) is what of the reasons that makes raindrop.io useful to me, along with the ability to sort folders (collections) alphabetically — something Safari does not do.
Hope this helps, and Happy New Year to you and yours.
Hi J.F.
Yes it does help and thank you.
To Lee,
Thanks for taking my observation in good part. That's what matters in the end,
Happy New Year to you.
David
