This app (in fact, this class of apps) is very poorly thought of among experienced Mac users, writers, and experts. Google for the clear consensus lowdown. I’d strongly urge all to read up before plunging in.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for posting your comment. You mention “users, writers, experts” above. What are your two or three top-of-mind articles that explain this the best? I know I could Google, but as you know, it’s a deep well and am curious as to what your research has revealed.

I can obviously only speak for myself, by CleanMyMac X is the only app in this category that I’ve felt comfortable installing and running on my system.

I'm not your research assistant. I offered a heads up, and you can do as you like. This is not a fringe or contrarian stance. The search results are a deep well of warnings and derision because the clear consensus is that this is crap software. Worse than crap, potentially dangerous. If you like it, awesome.

Hi Jim, I`ve used CleanMyMac for years and never had a single issue. I`m more than happy to recommend it to ScreenCastsOnline members as safe to install and use. Thanks for the heads up but I`ll leave this here if people want to read more about the safety of CleanMyMac X.
