Tutorial Description

I've been looking for a Read-It-Later service that works on all of my devices, and has excellent support for Shortcuts and automation and I've finally found it in GoodLinks. It's been growing steadily over the last couple of years and now has features that rival it's competitors. Easy to use, great to look at, it offers one of the best reading experiences I've seen and in this video, I'll show you how to set it up, add links to it from both Safari and Reeder, as well as organise your links.

For the adventurous amongst you, the end of the video covers Custom Actions, where you can send the links and associated metadata to other locations with the click of a button, as well as building Shortcuts to send your links to other key elements of your workflow.

GoodLinks requires iOS or iPadOS 15 or newer; macOS 12 or newer

The initial purchase costs $9.99 USD with optional feature upgrades for $4.99 per year after the first year.

I have been trialling RSS Reader Unread which has an excellent reading experience/typography with good integration with browsers to have a read it later service - it also has integration with GoodLinks. Unread is really worth a screencast as it has a lot of functionality in the free version

That's great, thanks for letting me know! Will add to the Show Suggestion List.

I loved this video. I think if every one of these videos included 10 minutes or so on making potentially useful shortcuts using the app in question I might actually start using shortcuts more.

Thanks Robert. I’m very much learning Shortcuts myself at the moment and trying to use it more. The plan is indeed, as and when I have something that I think members will find useful, to add some Shortcuts at the end of some videos if they are appropriate.

Very glad you like it.

Thank you for the great video. I wonder if GoodLinks remembers the position in the article where I finished reading or is just jump to the top of the article, after I closed application and let's say restarted the iPad?

Instapaper remembers the page where I stopped reading.

Hey there Predit,

Great question that I had to go and check. So i read an article to 75% through on my Mac - switched to iPad, opened GoodLinks, and it resumed there from the same place.

I didn't know I was happy about that, but it seems I am :)
