Tutorial Description

It takes a lot to impress me, but I've been blown away by Airtable!

Airtable is an amazing cloud based database app that runs in your browser, and has native iPhone, iPad Apps (with Android apps on the way). Being cloud based, it's truly cross platform and synchronises across all your devices almost instantaneously.

There is a fully featured free version, it's really easy to use and it's extremely powerful!

In this introductory episode, I take a look at the basics of Airtable using Safari on the Mac, as well as the native clients on the iPad and iPhone. In the next Airtable episode, I'll be taking a look at some of the more advanced features.

The full tutorial covers:

  • Introduction to Airtable
  • Exploring a Base
  • Airtable on iPad
  • Airtable on the iPhone
  • Creating a Base
  • Configuring Column Headers
  • Creating A Linked Table
  • Customising on the iPad
  • Creating a Base with iOS

I have yet to watch Part II but I have started using the app and it is very polished. I imported a CSV for a CRM and it is very smooth - and the import was less clunky than some purpose-built CRM apps.

Good one, Don. :-)

Have to agree that this is a very slick piece of kit! I didn't come across it until 3 or 4 weeks ago, and now I'm busily trying all sorts of integrations with Zapier and other web based applications that I use. This was a great catch, Don!!

All of your screencast hosts need to learn and harness the basics of 'audio'...

The constant variation of your voice levels, from mumbling to 'loud' bursts of instruction makes this screen cast, almost un-watchable. Especially with headphones on.

Watch this UT on audio 'compression'.
