Tutorial Description

Photos for Mac is here! Well it's been out for a few weeks, but always best to let things settle down a bit!

Photos is the new photo management application to replace iPhoto and Aperture. Not a standalone application, Photos is baked into OS X, with deep integration with iCloud Photo Library. In this first of a three part series, I take a look at some of the preparation tasks required before migration, as well as the migration process itself.

In this show I take a look at migrating from a single Aperture or iPhoto library using iCloud Photo Library. I also take a look at using iCloud Photo Library to sync additional libraries.

In the next show, I'll be taking a look at using Photos and examining some of its new features.

In this week's iOS show (SCOI0214), I take a refresher look at Photos for iOS.

The full tutorial covers:

  • Introduction
  • Preparation
  • Running Photos
  • Syncing to iCloud Photo Library
  • Migrating Additional Libraries
  • Using Multiple Libraries
  • Moving System Library
