It's been a while since I covered Pixelmator, but now with version 2.1 Cherry, Pixelmator has matured into a powerful, low cost alternative to Photoshop.
Fully enhanced for the new Retina display and full support for Mountain Lion and iCloud are just two of the stunning new features available in this new version.
Pixelmator have produced a suite of mini tutorials and videos on their website fully explaining the creative side, and demonstrating some of the effects and techniques available with the new application. This ScreenCastsOnline tutorial ties it all together, and examines changes to the user interface, the impact of iCloud and many of the new features included since I last covered Pixelmator. This includes some new customisation features, a look at some the new tools, along with the new Effects Browser and Alignment Guides.
