With the advent of the Plex Apple TV app, Plex has suddenly become hugely popular with the Mac community.
Use Plex to organise, play and share your local media library.
We've covered Plex in the past, but it just keeps getting better and better!

Nice opener.
I'd like to know more on how one deals with metadata. If my file has its own metadata built-in, can this be used instead of one of the internet sources? If it's an obscure programme/film not found on the web metadata sources, how does one add metadata to said programme(s)/film(s)?
Also, is the watched/unwatched and other personal statistics able to be backed-up, in case of loss (I can imagine a screwup and losing the played status of 000's of items!)? And can folders of files be merged/split whilst keeping personal stats (played/unplayed, etc.)?
Great as always (nice to have a longer show with the detail, BTW)!
Thanks James, It is possibly to edit the individual show metadata using the edit button when the media info panel is open. As far as the other questions are concerned, it might be worth a trip to the Plex forums!
