Everything on your to-do list must be completed within the context of time, but looking at a huge list of things can be overwhelming. Thanks for an excellent overview, Mike. How do you think Sorted compares with other task managers for Mac and iOS such as OmniFocus and Things?
The Auto Schedule and Magic Select features are the ones setting it apart from the other task management apps.
If you embrace the 1440 Minutes per day approach / philosophy, Sorted could be the way to go for you as well.
I really don't really view Sorted as a full-fledged task manager. You probably could use it that way, but IMHO Sorted is better if you have a smaller number of tasks and need to apply intentionality to your schedule and OmniFocus is for the person who needs to have a ton of detail and planning behind everything they do. Sorted does a great job of pointing you in the right direction with how to spend your time, OmniFocus gives you a database of everything you've ever done or will do.
Other than maybe cheaper, why on earth would one use this app when compared to the long-used OmniFocus? Seems like just another wannabe do all/is all task manager. Yawn ...
It is a different ( excellent ) and more hands on approach to both task and time management. Worthwhile exploring.
It's a very different use-case. People are usually shocked at how little I have in OmniFocus because I don't need it telling me every single thing I need to do, so for someone like me who has a smaller number of tasks and wants a tool to help PLAN the work, Sorted is great.

Hi David, I think if you check out some of the comments here it was well received by some members. It's the usual case of "you can't please all of the people all of the time" I'm afraid. Not looking for 100% relevance for all members but hopefully looking to hit a high member satisfaction.
... and it doesn't sync with a desktop app.
I’m glad to see a tutorial of Sorted3. Its relevant to me because I purchased this app a few months ago.
I think it’s a worthy app, nice design, some good features.
I did/do find Sorted complex to learn and find myself retreating to the comfort zone of Things 3. I still see Things as simple and powerful. I shall spend more time learning it.
Being a full convert coming from Things 3 — which by the way is an excellent application — the most appealing aspect for me is the merged handling of events and tasks in one timeline.

Missed the mentioning of the ( traditional calendar ) timeline view. You can invoke it by tapping the date in the top bar.
Furthermore, a not known feature is the NPL recognition of dates and times in the title. Give it a try and look out for it on the right side just above the ( Sorted ) keyboard bar.
Good point, I like adding tasks and events in the one place, very handy, but I would miss having a full week and month view.
Things 3 integrates calendar and tasks with a really useful scroll features under “Upcomingâ€, as I’m sure you know. The downside is that events can not be added or edited within Things.
Another comparison I discovered today, I wanted to print a list in Things, it worked, but lost some formatting. In Sorted there is no print function I could find.
Sorted seems keen to develope the app, I see it improving a lot in time to come. If I hadn’t invested a lot of money on Things I would happily go with Sorted.

The "Clear" app does that and does it quite well, and Clear runs on all i-devices and the Mac (I think PC too but not sure). I don't need my hand held and told what to do and nagged when it's not; I just need a list manager that WORKS and Clear does.

I agree :) Different strokes for different folks. I wrote an article one time on the different levels of task managers. Can't wait for the new version of Clear on iOS to come out so I can cover it for SCO!
Like Mike says, Clear would suit many people. I use The likes of Sorted and Things as a task manager, project manager and a place to get easy access to permanent notes, in some ways taking over from Evernote.

Am I correct that this app doesn't sync?
Hi David, Of course, feedback is the lifeblood of ScreenCastsOnline so all feedback is welcome and appreciated.
As far as Sync is concerned, iCloud sync will allow you to sync your iOS devices, and I would expect that once a Mac App is available that will also sync too. No idea on when a Mac app will be available though.
I believe Sorted for Mac is under development, although personally I live and work mostly with iPhone and iPad. I use the MBP less and less these days. Sorted folk use Slack to keep users up to date with developments.
