In his return to ScreenCastsOnline, Richard goes back to an app he knows very well and has previously covered, and that's Yoink. This time though, he focuses on some of the newest features, shows you some tricks, and discusses using Handoff to swiftly move between Mac and iPad.
The full tutorial covers:
App Store Links:
Yoink: Improved Drag and Drop - Mac App Store
Yoink: Improved Drag and Drop - iOS App Store

Please DO NOT ASSUME (remember that word’s alternate meaning) that a person watching a refresh/update whatever course knows the details of the primary product. At least do a short reminder/refresher of WHY the product is under review, what problems its solves, and WHY it is “better” than similar products.
Case in point: The Yoink videos 829 and 1125. The vid starts with how things changed/got better without telling WHY I SHOULD CARE. I had to go back to 315 to find out what it did and why it is a good choice for what it does (i.e., explained by what it does).
As it turns out, after going back to the first video (315), Yoink was of interest to me, and I now have it running on my Macs, iPhones, and iPads.
Please, help not to waste our time. I enjoy my subscription, but the vids can be done better as indicated herein.
I echo some of your sentiments, as a paid subscriber. I have brought this up to SCO personnel in the past, unfortunately, with no improvement as observed with this episode. The user should not be taxed with taking time in seeking out past material to support this tutorial. A simple link to the past relevant episode(s) would have been welcome.
Just a heads up that the new tag system is an easy way to find past episode. Just a tap on the Yoink tag will produce a list of all Yoink shows.
Hi Kurt, You can see these three tags Utilities, Yoink and Setapp. Taping or clicking on these buttons will produce a list of related shows.

I came to make a comment and read Martin Turner's comment that says more or less what I would have said. I have not looked at show 315 so as of yet I am wondering why I would want this app.
Actually, this comment is not solely directed at you, Richard. I have felt it (and commented about it) with other presenters. Tell us what the app does and why it is an advance on not having it, before doing anything else.
Apart from that, this is the first time I have heard you, Richard, and thumbs up.
Hi David!
Thanks for the feedback. That’s really useful to know. I’ll endeavour in the next episode to add why you should care and what it does upfront. Have a great day!
I have tried to set up the Automator download file from the Yoink blog but am doing something wrong. It would be helpful to have step-by-step instructions as to how to make this work. Thanks
Hi Nick,
It’s weird that it doesn’t work for you. What version of macOS are you on? The blog instructions give quite a good account of what to do so it wouldn’t be very useful to add written instructions.
RIchard Baker - I am glad to see I am not the only one who is unhappy that basic information regarding Yoink itself was not included with in some manner with this screencast. Quite honestly, I am not sure this is your fault. Historically, the SCO show notes have done a poor job of linking to past tutorials when an update show, such as this one, is presented. It is a definite area of "needs improvement" for the show productions, in general.
I do not see the tags displayed in the the web view of the SCO website.
Sorry for the duplicate posting but in case you missed the first one.
