Tutorial Description

Little Snitch 3 gives you absolute control of what your Mac connects to, and what or who connects to it!

Little Snitch is an application designed to improve the security of your Mac by constantly identifying in-bound as well as out-bound connection requests to and from your Mac. Once identified, Little Snitch will enable you to allow or deny such requests, giving you full control of all network connections.

It's easy to create "profiles" and "rules" based on your location and various scenarios. With its built in Network Monitor, you can review highly detailed network traffic history over time, allowing you to fully analyse your network usage, and determine which applications are utilising most of your bandwidth.

Little Snitch 3 has many more new features including Silent Mode, Automatic Profile Switching, Inbound Firewall, Simplified Connection Alert, Research Assistant and much more.

Todd Olthoff takes you through all the basic features of Little Snitch 3, from setup to using the application in many different situations.

The full tutorial covers:

  • Installing Little Snitch
  • The Connection Alert Window
  • The Little Snitch Network Monitor
  • Managing Rules with the Configuration Utility
  • Setting Up Profiles for Location Based Rules
