In this tip Darcy gives you a quick tour of HandBrake, the free and open-source video converter utility that's been around since 2003! You learn what media containers are before looking at the process of importing a video to convert it into another format, or make it more suitable for specific platforms. HandBrake offers many presets as well, and Darcy runs them down for you, pointing out the advantages they might offer.
